Hi everyone! I’m Kai Eckert (BridginWithKai). I am an obsessive Collegiate Bridge player, ACBL Tournament Director, teacher, and Youtuber who has been playing for 7 years. I have made it my goal in life to promote Bridge in any way I can. Most prominently through content creation.
My passion is making entertaining Bridge videos that will be entertaining from beginners to experts. Whether it be learning through experience, or laughing at my silly mistakes and ridiculous takes, I try to ensure that anyone can get something out of my content.
Interview with Kai Eckert
What inspired you to become a bridge influencer?
Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming a YouTuber. But it wasn’t until I discovered Bridge that I found a passion worth sharing. The game deserves more visibility, and with my knowledge of YouTube, I wanted to make it fun and accessible.
Most online content is way too serious — I want to make people want to discover Bridge, even if they’ve never heard of it before. Soon, everyone will know that Bridge isn’t just for grannies!
If you had to encourage someone to play bridge, what would you say?
I’m so passionate about Bridge, I could talk about it for hours. To me, it’s deep, creative, almost telepathic, and endlessly rewarding. My excitement is contagious, it’s hard not to get curious!
At what age did you start playing bridge?
I started playing at 14 to surprise my grandma after a vacation. She was thrilled, and we played together all summer. Later, I found V8mama’s Twitch community, where I fell in love with modern Bridge. It was so fun, I knew I’d never stop!
What are your dreams and goals as a bridge player?
My main goal is to promote Bridge and get people excited about it. As a player, I’d love to make the USA U26 team, play in the Bermuda Bowl, and maybe even win it one day. Becoming an NABC champion is also a dream of mine.
But my biggest goal is to make a living through Bridge. Whether it’s playing, teaching, directing, or creating content — I love it all, and I could never get tired of it!
What is your best bridge memory?
I’ve had so many amazing memories thanks to Bridge! Playing with BridgeBabe530 in Phoenix in 2022, meeting my friends from V8mama’s community in Reno after COVID…
But my favorite moment was at the 2025 Gold Coast Congress — playing with V8mama, discovering Australia, and finally meeting friends I’d known online for 7 years. It was truly a dream come true!
What do you like most about Funbridge?
I’m totally addicted to the Bridge Points Circuit! There are so many different types of events where you can earn points and climb the rankings: matchpoint tournaments, IMPs, ambassador tournaments, knockouts, and so much more!
It’s a super fun and competitive mode… and it’s all included with the Premium+ subscription!
Bridge is an incredibly rich game, and there’s no single right way to play or learn. What truly matters is your own experience. Don’t let anyone tell you how it should be done — everyone plays for a different reason. And may Bridge always be a source of joy!
