The month was also marked by the launch of a brand-new major format: the Equinox Arena, an innovative BP1000 tournament that brought together 3,993 players during the qualification phase.

Bridge Points Circuit: Jonny Gjerde takes the top spot 🥇

The March Bridge Points rankings saw Jonny Gjerde claim first place with 6,257 BP, confirming his position among the most consistent players on the circuit.

Equinox Arena: a new BP1000 challenge ⚡

March saw the launch of a major new format on Funbridge: the Equinox Arena, an innovative BP1000 tournament combining pair tournaments with a knockout final stage.

The tournament took place in two phases:
– Qualifications (March 16–19): 3,993 players competed to secure a spot among the top 512 and qualify for the final stage.
– KO Finals (from March 20): qualified players faced off in knockout matches, with 16 boards per match and 24 hours to play each round.

This hybrid format requires a dual skill set: performing well in pair tournaments, then delivering consistent results in IMP matches to go all the way. A complete challenge where every match can be decisive.

After an intense final stage, victory went to Valardent (Belgium), who claimed the title in this first edition of the Equinox Arena.

Funbridge tournaments not to miss in April 📅

The Bridge Trophy will make its debut, replacing the Bridge Cup.

This knockout tournament retains its competitive DNA, with a key evolution: 21 boards per round, leading to even more strategic and hard-fought matches.
