This Sunday, Isabelle plays in the Transnational at the World Championships in Marrakech. She meets a team from Turkey, composed of the runners-up from the 2022 Women World Championships in Salsomaggiore.

The girls play a great session right up until this deal that offers an interesting defensive problem. Isabelle comes back disappointed because she mis defended against 3 No-Trumps.

Isabelle: “I will never be able to play a perfect session. I led the Queen of Clubs for the Ace from dummy, Garance’s 6 and declarer’s 8. On the lead of the Queen, we encourage with a high card when we have an honor. So I thought her high card showed the Jack. When I then came in with the King of Diamonds, I continued with a small Club to preserve my King-9 for a possible finesse against the 10 if South started with 10xxx.”
