Interview with Léo Rombaut
What is your best bridge memory?
I have many fond memories of Youth Championships. There is always a very nice atmosphere. My best memory is probably when we became World Champions last year. With some of my Funbridge teammates.
And I have lots of good memories with my dad.
What do you do when you are not playing bridge?
I have been playing football a lot for 13 years and I started padel 2 years ago.
As for my studies, I hope to complete my third year in Sport Science next year.
What would you say to encourage someone to take up bridge?
First of all, don’t pay attention to prejudices. Despite how complex this game is, you can enjoy playing and progress very quickly. Even if bridge is perfect for the elderly, not only to train their memory and brain but also to create social bonds, it is not aimed at pensioners only. Many young people play bridge and the Youth Championships are proof of that. So, find a partner among your friends to get started and off you go!
Why have you decided to join Team Funbridge?
Because I really like playing on Funbridge and this is a great opportunity to take part in international events, and furthermore with friends.
