Bridge Points

On Friday 1 November, Bridge Points (BP), the BP Circuit and titles will make their debut on Funbridge.

What is it? How does it work? How to get some? All these questions are addressed in the article below!

What are Bridge Points used for?

Brand-new Bridge Points will soon replace Funbridge Points as the standard way to compare yourself to other bridge players from all over the world in monthly and yearly rankings.

What about Funbridge Points?

Your current Funbridge Points will be automatically converted into Bridge Points (1 Bridge Point = 100 Funbridge Points) when the new point system will become effective.

How to win Bridge Points?

To collect Bridge Points, all you will have to do is participate in special events of the BP Circuit on Funbridge! Each event will earn you a certain amount of Bridge Points based on a coefficient from 1 to 25 according to its category

You will be able to easily identify them as they will have their own logos:

Bridge Points x1

Bridge Points x2

Bridge Points x5

Bridge Points x10

Bridge Points x25

Daily tournaments, Instant tournaments, Ambassador tournaments… The season will offer numerous tournaments rewarded with Bridge Points. The more Bridge Points a category of tournament offers, the rarer it will be!

And there is more…

60 levels and 15 titles from Rookie to Grand Master will pave your journey!

    • Right; we do already pay member fees: why does Funbridge need to charge extra money on top for diamonds? It does indeed kill the fun, because most tournaments require diamonds to register. Member fees should be sufficient to play unlimited games.

  1. Bonjour,

  2. I agree with Paul Sontag, nobody cares about your Bridge Point !! I am already a Premium member and I don’t want to have to pay more diamonds to play tournaments. In fact I gave up Premium+ recently because I thought it didn’t do me any good !!!!!

  3. I Agree with Paul Sontag as well.
Quality bridge engine instead of quality superficiality please!

Lay off some seemingly abundant marketing personnel (they create ideas in which you need/can’t live without Funbridge, but without themselves as well?) and hire more technical staff for game play, AI and bidding description updates/improvements instead, which seem non existent for a long time now.

    Good luck with that!

  4. What on earth are Funbridge points? Are they diamonds? Does this mean you have to buy them? If so, then not really a test of skill! I agree with earlier comments and think the annual fee is sufficient and I refuse to pay for extras.

  5. I agree with the comments above. The annual fee for Funbridge is enough. Stop being greedy, looking for more revenue. Bridge points serve no purpose. Work on the technical side, not the marketing side of this site.

    • Have you seen the announcement in the June newsletter of the NBB about lowering the costs of a FunBridge subscription, starting in September? And that the NBB would inform us about it in August?
      Nothing heard since…… ‍♂️

  6. From the description, it is not really clear to me what the difference to Funbridge Points is. And why these points should be “the standard way to compare yourself to other bridge players from all over the world”? Is that not what the performance numbers (IMP/%) are meant for?

  7. Why is there no reaction from the FB team? I see only negative feedback and I would have expected further clarifications and answers… I see little consideration for the customers

  8. Fixing the system, maybe informing us what has changed, and maybe give feedback on comments that led to changes would be helpful.
Right now, there is an issue with reporting deals that I was told to be patient about.
I have had at least 7 jump bids to 5 of a minor, bypassing NT and giving minus scores that I can’t seem to stop. I have had 17-18 points “promised” when there were 14. I have had jump raises from the two level to the four level promising 6 and showing 3. Fixing the wrong points should be easy: just widen the range (5-25; it wouldn’t be very helpful, but it would be honest). I recognize that there are complexities in the system, but if FB charged less and made a comment en Français that the bids occasionally could be “quirky,” I would accept that.

  9. When playing an ACBL tournament (instant), I don’t see my winning points until after some dumb screen about Bridge Points which I don’t care about. Now I have to find a drop down menu to get the points I purchased for the game I just played. Wicked dumb programming. I’ve been loyal for a long time, but will probably switch to BBO.

  10. Right; we do already pay member fees: why does Funbridge need to charge extra money on top for diamonds? It does indeed kill the fun, because most tournaments require diamonds to register. Member fees should be sufficient to play unlimited games.
