Playing style: I would describe myself as a magician. I like to bluff, during the auction or the play. This has got me in some bad contracts where I was living on the edge to scramble them together.

At what age did you start playing bridge?

I was 10 when I learned the rules.

What is your best bridge memory?

Being European champion in 2024 on the team with my brother (Sander), while my little brother (Martijn) was part of the Dutch U21 team that also won the European championship.

If you had to encourage someone to play bridge, what would you say?

Bridge is so much more than a game, it is a lifestyle. I have met countless good players and great friends across the globe. Just try it, I guarantee you will be hooked.

What do you do when you are not playing bridge?

I am a second year psychology student. I like to work out and enjoy walks. I also like reading, writing and have a keen interest in philosophy.

Why have you decided to join Team Funbridge?

I think it is a great opportunity to travel the world with a like-minded team, to share my passion and battle for some great results.
