How to edit and customize your bidding system

In bridge, good communication with your partner is essential for successful bidding and making your contracts. This is why Funbridge offers you the possibility of finely customising your bidding system and therefore avoiding misunderstandings with your favourite virtual partner: Argine! Find out in this article how to adapt this tool to your playing style and preferences.
A step-by-step video tutorial
Here is how to edit and customize your bidding system:
- Go to your account by clicking on your profile picture.
- Go to Conventions > Bidding Conventions.
- Click on “View/Edit”. You will see your current system.
- To change it, click on “Switch to another system”. You will then have access to the most common bidding systems in the bridge world.
- Just click on the system you want to switch to and you will see the details.
- Then click on “Select this system”.
- Confirm your choice.
- For some systems, you can take customisation even further. To do so, click on “Edit” on the right.
- Your changes will be saved automatically.
- In the same way, you can also set your card play conventions.

We can’t wait for you to (re)discover this feature. Tell us in the comments if you have any suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you. 😊
I did this and found Argine:
1. Put me in 5 level contracts bypassing any mention of NT. Even when I made those contracts, which I usually did not, the score was terrible.
2. Still has a problem with basic numbers, be it counting the points correctly in a bid or the number of cards. I cannot count the number of times “6 or more cards” was 5, and when I suggested that they say “at least 5,” neither heard from them nor saw any changes. While I have read they look at all the comments, I suspect it is AI, which is not immune to bad system design or making bad system design.
3. Does not always use a suit preference play on a (rare) ruff.
4. Jumps to slams too often without such niceties as cuebidding or ace asking.
5. When I comment, I often read “the system is not perfect,” which is a cop out. It’s one thing not to be perfect; it is quite another to have the same problems keep recurring.
6. Take out doubles, at least in double or three digit W. longitude locations, should not occur if a possible major has only 2 cards and it preferably should have 4. I have seen instances where a 7 card minor was not bid so the neat name “take out” could be used. I never know what to expect from Argine, except the minimum or a subminimum.
7. What we see during the play as an explanation of a bid and what we see in the comments for the explanation of that same bid are not always the same. This should be fixed.
Suggest #2 be fixed yesterday. Suggest that maybe there is a blog post on what changes were made as a result of input by players on the platform. It wouldn’t take too long to write one.
I agree with every one of here comments, but I don’t ever see any improvements made.based on any of the comments. The most egregious problem is over- bidding. I can’t tell you how many contracts I have wanted to play in three no trump and the computer refuses to see that as a close-out bid. Invariably, I get a bid if 4 clubs, which the partner has no business bidding, because most of the time they have fewer than 10 points. Once I was forced to bid a slam because partner refused to stop bidding,, only to find they had 3 points! I think Fun Bridge is making me worse instead of better!
