Guilty as charged
North-South have reached a very poor contract. As so often, each of the two players considers that his partner is responsible for the accident. And you, what do you think?
Problem #1
The facts :
Our two friends went down in 1 No-Trump and realized that they could have easily made 2 Hearts, without having too many regrets when their opponents produced the same result.
Arguments :
North : “Well, I would have liked to bid 2♥ over 1NT and accept playing in a possible 4-3 fit, but if I’m not mistaken even though it shows this distribution, this bid is made with hands in the 15-17HCP range and suggests playing game.”
South : “My 1NT bid is correct, it’s the famous “all is possible” bid with 6-10HCP and any distribution ‒ to repeat Hearts, I would need six cards except opposite a 1NT rebid.”
