At what age did you start playing bridge?

I started at about 11.

What is your best bridge memory?

Our journey in the Indian U16 team (World Youth Bridge Championships) began with a disappointing start in the pairs event. The scoreboard was heartbreaking and we knew the teams event was our last chance to prove ourselves. It started the next day, and things didn’t look promising. However, on the final day, we rallied together, determined to fight for our team and our country. Encouraging each other, we achieved an incredible turnaround, climbing up from a very low position to secure a bronze medal in just three rounds!

If you had to encourage someone to play bridge, what would you say?

For me, bridge is much more than a cerebral card game : it has been a teacher, imparting invaluable lessons in logic, reasoning, quick decision-making, patience, concentration, and teamwork. The highs and lows of the game mirror life itself, offering profound insights along the way.

What do you do when you are not playing bridge?

I enjoy hiking and have had the privilege of climbing several high-altitude mountain peaks in the Himalayas, where I’ve seen Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga with my own eyes. I am also a passionate vocalist with a deep love for South Indian classical music. Also, I have a keen interest in exploring historical sites and have embarked on numerous road trips tracing significant landmarks in Indian history.

Why have you decided to join Team Funbridge?

Having represented the Indian team, I am well connected within the Indian bridge community. I believe Funbridge can provide me with an excellent platform to participate in international events and engage with a global bridge community.
