East opened and you can therefore assign him a minimum of 11 or 12 HCP, as well as &#x2666; length. Which leaves at most 9 HCP to West. You already know about 5 of them, in the form of the king-queen of &#x2666;. <strong>Here is some (small piece of) good news: if the queen of &#x2665; is onside, the ace of &#x2663; will be too! <\/strong>What is more, West, who doubled 1&#x2660;, has guaranteed four cards in <strong>&#x2665;<\/strong>. Which only leaves two to East. In fact, after having drawn the trumps, you have a nice safety play at your disposal: play a <strong>&#x2665;<\/strong> to the king and a <strong>&#x2665;<\/strong> to the ace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If nothing pops up, play another &#x2665; to the jack. West will win the queen and return a &#x2665;, for example. You will discard one of your &#x2663; and play a &#x2663; towards your king without fear. If the queen of &#x2665; drops doubleton from East, you will continue with two more rounds of &#x2665; this time, discarding a &#x2663; on the last one.
