I have selected two deals that stood out for me.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A delayed double<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On this deal, I found myself with a <strong>tricky bid after my RHO opened 1<span style=\"color: #d67f07;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">&#x2666;<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/funbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/BidsCards_-3-1024x675.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-111989\" style=\"width:548px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/funbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/BidsCards_-3-1024x675.png 1024w, https:\/\/funbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/BidsCards_-3-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/funbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/BidsCards_-3-768x506.png 768w, https:\/\/funbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/BidsCards_-3-1536x1012.png 1536w, https:\/\/funbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/BidsCards_-3.png 1860w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>I have several options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I can overcall <strong>1NT<\/strong>, but my partner is likely to make a <strong>transfer to hearts<\/strong> and I could find myself in an unpleasant <strong>5-1<\/strong> fit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I can also <strong>double<\/strong>, but I will face a <strong>rebid problem<\/strong> over the 1<span style=\"color: #dc1515;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">&#x2665;<\/span> response.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instead, I chose to <strong>pass first<\/strong> and double my opponents&#8217; hearts later. He responded 4&#x2663;, which shows a <strong>positive hand<\/strong> in addition to the club stopper (otherwise he could have stopped in 4&#x2660;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I bid Blackwood, then king ask when I realised that no key card was missing.
