How did you get into bridge?  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I started playing bridge in the mid-80s while studying mechanical engineering in Darmstadt. At that time a school friend and fellow student was talking about bridge and, somewhat naively, I claimed that I could play too because when I was a teenager, I had already been allowed twice to act as the dummy in my mother’s bridge game. At the next club evening I was taught better. But I was bitten by the bridge bug and with “learning by doing” I fought my way through the beginners’ time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your national ranking? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In Germany we don’t have a meaningful ranking list. In the list of masterpoints, I am currently in 32nd place with 2339 MPs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your playing record? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I won the European Small Federation Games  in 2011 with the Luxembourg national team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your best bridge memory? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As coach of the German women’s national team, seeing my wife win silver medals at the Venice Cup in 2005 and 2007. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which achievement are you most proud of? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

3rd place in the Swiss National Team League A in 2013. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your favourite game mode on Funbridge? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Team Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wie sind Sie zum Bridge gekommen?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Mit Bridgespielen begonnen habe ich Mitte der 80er Jahre w\u00e4hrend meines Maschinenbaustudiums in Darmstadt. Damals sprach ein Schulfreund und Kommilitone von Bridge und etwas blau\u00e4ugig behauptete ich, dass ich das auch k\u00f6nnen w\u00fcrde, weil ich bereits zweimal als Teenager den Dummy in Mutters Bridgerunde bedienen durfte. Beim folgenden Klubabend wurde ich eines Besseren belehrt. Aber der Virus war gesetzt und mit \u201elearning by doing\u201c k\u00e4mpfte ich mich durch die Anf\u00e4ngerzeit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wo stehen Sie in Ihrer nationalen Rangliste?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In Deutschland haben wir keine aussagekr\u00e4ftige Rangliste. In der Liste der Masterpunkte bin ich mit 2339 MP zurzeit  auf Rang 32.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was waren Ihre gr\u00f6\u00dften Erfolge?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Der Gewinn der Europameisterschaft (small federations) 2011 mit der Nationalmannschaft von Luxemburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was ist Ihre beste Erinnerung im Bridge?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Als Coach der deutschen Damennationalmannschaft die Silbermedaillen beim Venice Cup 2005 und 2007 meiner Frau zu erleben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auf welches Ergebnis sind Sie am meisten stolz?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
