First bit of good news: the King of ♥ is onside (West having no reason to underlead it on this sequence). Yet for all that, the game is not over yet: far from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sure, the King of ♥ might be doubleton, which would give you a third trick in the suit by cashing the Ace. But that can wait. In fact, at this stage, your contract is lay-down as long as East holds the Ace of ♣: cash the Ace-Queen of ♠, play a ♦ to the Ace and a small ♣ away from the King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

East cannot rise with the Ace (you would discard a ♥ from the dummy on the Queen of ♣). You win the trick with the Queen. Continue with a ♦ to the King and a ♦ ruffed; then cash the trumps. On the last one, East, who holds both the King of ♥ and the Ace of ♣ doubleton, can do nothing. If he discards a ♥, it is enough for you to play a ♥ to the Ace. If he parts with a ♣, you play ♣. He will find himself on lead and has to underlead his King of ♥ two cards from the end. You let this run to the Queen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
