The good news is that you know that. In principle, you have two &#x2663; and two &#x2660; to give up. If East does not hold King-doubleton &#x2660;, you need to be considering a throw-in. As it often does, the problem consists of knowing by which method and in which suit you need to throw East in with. A priori, there seem to be two possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After eliminating the &#x2666;, playing the 7 of &#x2660; from hand and letting it run. But this requires either East to have KJ10 in &#x2660; or for West to misdefend by forgetting to cover and force the Queen out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other way is to hope for East to have four &#x2666; and throw him in on the fourth round of the suit, discarding a &#x2660; from your hand. This is the solution you should prefer. But watch out! Everything could be ruined on Trick One if you put the King of &#x2663; up from the dummy. East will win and return a club (away from the Queen) to his partner, who will have no difficulty in finding the fatal &#x2660; switch.
