If both diamond honours are split between the two opponents, it will work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-spacer stk-block-spacer stk--no-padding stk-block stk-ac11cae\" data-block-id=\"ac11cae\"><style>.stk-ac11cae{height:10px !important}<\/style><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Isn&#8217;t there sand in the gears?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, there is! If East gains the lead even once, he will play a spade and <strong>your King will be drawn<\/strong>. In fact, East is the danger hand and you will make your contract only if you never give up the lead to him. If East holds the 9 of Hearts with the Queen or Jack, you may win a third trick in that suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-spacer stk-block-spacer stk--no-padding stk-block stk-7342de4\" data-block-id=\"7342de4\"><style>.stk-7342de4{height:10px !important}<\/style><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You must play a <strong>heart from the dummy.<\/strong> So, cross to the dummy with the Jack of Clubs. Then play the 8 of Hearts to follow with the 7 if East plays a small card. This is a Super Forcing showing a very strong spade fit (at least 23 points) with a remainder in Diamonds (by inference, a singleton or a heart void).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-spacer stk-block-spacer stk--no-padding stk-block stk-4220170\" data-block-id=\"4220170\"><style>.stk-4220170{height:10px !important}<\/style><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>\/Deal <\/strong>7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6&#x2666;: A very reasonable bet. <\/strong>Your partner jumped and you have far more points than promised.
