To overcome the blockage in Diamonds you must win the Spade lead in hand and then immediately cash your two remaining Spade honors, discarding the Ace and King of Diamonds from dummy! Duck the opening lead! <strong>Not suspecting such Machiavellianism for a second, <\/strong>West will continue with another Spade, persuaded partner has the Spade Queen. You can then discard the King of Clubs on the Queen of Spades and the Ace of Clubs on the Ace of Spades! Demonstration: you win the lead with the Spade Ace and then discard the Ace of Hearts on the Queen of Spades. You now cash the King-Queen-Jack of Hearts and<strong> discard the Ace-King-Queen of Diamonds! <\/strong>Next comes the Diamond Jack and if the 10 falls, you can cash the whole suit and end up taking only one trick with South\u2019s hand and twelve in North\u2019s!
