The process of checking follows the showing of support (excluding expected controls). There is, therefore, little space left to complete all checks before the 4NT level. <strong>In what follows you will learn the techniques that will allow you to bid economically.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-spacer stk-block-spacer stk--no-padding stk-block stk-d9e7147\" data-block-id=\"d9e7147\"><style>.stk-d9e7147{height:10px !important}<\/style><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Introduction: limit supports<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A player receiving 3-level limit support for his major has three options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pass.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bid game.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explore Slam (All other bids).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Limit supports at the 3-level are always direct jumps. It does not solve the sole problem: a Heart control. It is better to bid 4&#x2666; after 3&#x2660;, then after 4&#x2660; by partner you pass, but after 4&#x2665; you can bid 4NT. <strong>Let&#8217;s slightly modify West&#8217;s hand:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/funbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Deal-8-17-1024x375.png\" alt=\"Deal 8\" class=\"wp-image-73613\" width=\"512\" height=\"188\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Now the priority has changed from a Heart control to a Club control. He can count 12 probable tricks; 6 Hearts, 5 Diamonds and a side Ace. There may even be 13 tricks if opener has all 4 aces\u2026 e.g. &#x2660;A &#x2665;A763 &#x2666;A10874 &#x2663;A73. However slam will fail if there are two top losers in Spades. This problem is easily solved by the 3&#x2660; relay.
