You\u2019ll cash the Ace of Spades (trumps are 2-2) and claim twelve tricks consisting of seven Spades, two Hearts, the Ace of Diamonds and two Clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>But, unfortunately, what will happen if the finesse fails? <\/strong>West will win the trick and play back a trump. The problem here: if East has the Club King, he will easily exit with a Heart and you\u2019ll go down. In short, this dilemma seems insoluble and we go around in circles without really knowing what to do to be sure to win 6 Spades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It would be ideal to find a line of play that is successful wherever the King of Clubs is located. Does it exist?<\/strong> Yes, absolutely. For this, you must not get blocked in hand with the Club Ace and it is necessary that East cannot get on lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How can you do achieve this? <\/strong>The solution is worthy of the Egg of Columbus.
