You therefore need to find another two tricks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These can only come from the &#x2665; (with West holding the King) and the &#x2666;, as long as you guess correctly between playing towards the King or the Jack (if, indeed, there is a correct guess to be made). How do you decide? The key to the hand rests on a necessary hypothesis: the King of &#x2665; absolutely has to be with West. As he passed initially and has already shown up with the King-Queen of &#x2663; and must therefore hold the King of &#x2665; (which is already 8 HCP), he could not also hold the Ace of &#x2666;, with which he would have had an opening (12 HCP).
