Sitting South, what would your next bid be?
Dominique Fonteneau’s answers

Your hand must be assimilated to a balanced hand of 18-19 HCPs. The 6 cards in the minor suit are re-evaluated. There are several advantages:
– You show the strength of your hand with great precision.
– You will easily find the 5-3 fit in hearts.
– You will play from the right hand in NT.
Score : 20/20 ✅

An imaginative reverse bid with just two cards. There are several advantages:
– You show your strength and long clubs at a very low level.
– You will easily find the 5-3 fit in hearts.
Be careful that your partner does not impose the diamonds as the trump suit with five cards!
Score : 15/20

Generally, jumps show a nice suit to set trumps. Sure, you have 6 clubs, but your suit quality is a little weak and you are slightly too strong. And with a hand that is rather balanced, the risk is that your partner will pass with long hearts and a singleton club. The heart contract would then be better.
Score : 10/20

You are really out of the range with a 2♣ rebid since this bid promises 11 to 15 points. The chances of your partner passing with 7 to 9 points and you making a game are high.
In theory, a 1NT opening on the first round would have devalued the strength of the hand less!
Score : 5/20

OK men svårt när man inte vet vilket budsystem som gäller?
Håller med. Emellanåt tycker jag att FB har en bridgefilosofi som inte helt stämmer med den svenska.
(Se f.ö. mitt svar nedan).
Hi! I would have scored zero, because my preferred bid was not among the options. 3 hearts! Why hesitate when we have found a nice fit in a major?
I would have opened 1NT
A no trump opening 15 – 17. But with 17 and a solid 5 card minor sometimes 6, we treat it as 18-19.
Amazingly got this right!
mycket bra
Right opening is 1NT with a 6322 in minor and stops in both singletons. Sorry…
I would have opened 1 NT. If I opened 1 Club, I would have bid 2 hearts. I have played many successful 4/3 fit card major contracts. As it turns out, it’s a 5/3 fit and not a 4/3 fit.
My partner and I both said 2NT. I’d like questions like this more regularly. The explanations are so helpful!
My bid is 3NT
I also went to 3NT
I also thought 2NT right away. Merci Dominique. On attend plus de Masterclasses
My bid of 2 NT matches the expert! Nice question!
