The mark of a good declarer is to gather information about the defenders hands and consider how the missing cards are placed in order for the contract to succeed.

An aggressive 3NT

La Doyenne picks up the following cards: Both vulnerable, Dealer West

She hears her left-hand opponent open a weak 2♠ and this is passed around to her. What should she bid? She is little too strong for a simple 2NT in the balancing seat, but it is not clear that a double is going to help her at all. She decides to hope that her partner has a few bits and pieces and jumps straight to 3NT. Bold or foolhardy?
