Bridge problem: The escape
Your hand sitting South
Bidding
Dealer South. East-West vulnerable.
North-South hands
Lead: King of ♦ taken by the Ace in East who switched to the 2 of ♣. What do you think of all this?
The 3♦ cue bid is a game invitation in ♥ with four trumps (3♥ would be a pre-empt). South accepted it in the name of his 5-5 two-suiter that he could have possibly shown with 2NT on the first round.

Good bridge problem, like it!!
very clearly explained! I sort of figured out the singleton but the process of getting rid of the extra diamond was not clear to me as my inclination is not to give up the lead if I can possibly help it…in this case, this would be the best option. Thanks, keep them coming!!
