Principle
Series tournaments on Funbridge allow you to compare and rank yourself against players of your level.
Twice a month, at the end of each period (from the 1st to the 15th and from the 16th to the end of each month), players' breakdown in series is recalculated.
You can thus go up to a higher series, go down to a lower series or secure your place in your series.

Series
There are 13 series on Funbridge, ranked from the weakest to the strongest one, i.e. New series (for new players who have not played in series yet) - Series 11 - Series 10 - Series 9 - Series 8 - Series 7 - Series 6 - Series 5 - Series 4 - Series 3 - Series 2 - Series 1 - Elite series (strongest series).


The players' breakdown system is pyramidal, i.e. the higher the series, the fewer players there are in this series. And vice versa, the lower the series, the more players there are in the series.

You start playing in the "New" series. It allows you to directly access the series of your level based on your ranking at the end of the period.

Period
The period lasts from the 1st to the 15th, and then from the 16th to the last day of each month.
At the end of each period, a new series is allocated to players based on their result. Therefore, at the end of a period, a player can go up to a higher series, secure his place in his series or go down to the next series down.

Series tournaments
Series tournaments are 4 deals tournaments and the number of participants (necessarily belonging to the same series) is not limited.
The ranking method used in these tournaments is MP ranking.
There are 200 tournaments available per period and series, except in the Elite series (strongest one), series 1, 2 and 3 for which there are 100 series tournaments per period. Please note that these values may change from one period to another.

Ranking in your series and movements across series
The ranking in your series is calculated based on your average results in series tournaments over the period under way.
At the end of the period, you are likely to go up to a higher series, go down to a lower series or secure your place in your series based on the number of tournaments that you have played and your average score in all these tournaments.

- Requirements to go up to a higher series:

• Play at least 5 tournaments over the period
• And get an average superior to the rise threshold set at the beginning of the period

- Requirements to secure one's place in a series:

• Play at least 1 tournament over the period
• And get an average superior to the securing threshold set at the beginning of the period

- Requirements to go down to a lower series:

• Get an average inferior to the securing threshold set at the beginning of the period

Particular cases
Particular cases of the New series:
- To leave the New series and access another one, you must play at least 5 tournaments over the period.
- It is your average in the New series which will determine the series you will get access to. The higher your average, the higher the series you will get access to will be.

Particular case of series 11:
- You can not go down from series 11 since it is the lowest one.

Particular case of the Elite series:
- You can not go up from the Elite series since it is the highest one.

Particular case of players who do not play in series over one or several consecutive periods:
- If you have not played any tournament over a period, you remain in the series.
- If you have not played any tournament over a second consecutive period, you will go down to the next series down called "inactive" (see below).

• How "inactive" series work:
- There are 11 "inactive" series, from the "inactive" series 1 to the "inactive" series 11.
- Players who have not played over at least two consecutive periods are ranked in the "inactive" series.
- A player in the "inactive" series does no longer appear in series rankings.
- If you are in an "inactive" series, as soon as you play 1 tournament, you return to the related series, i.e. series 3 for "inactive" series 3, series 4 for "inactive" series 4, and so on.





• Example:
James is in series 9 and does not play over a period, so he remains in series 9.
He does not play over a second consecutive period, so he goes down to series 10 but "inactive" series 10. He does no longer appear in rankings.
To leave the "inactive" series and return to series 10 rankings, James only has to play 1 series tournament. As soon as he will have played this tournament, he will be ranked in series 10 again, without having to wait until the end of the period.

General and tournament rankings
- General rankings:
An extract of your series general rankings is displayed on the series tournaments home page. You appear among a sample of other players of your series in order to quickly compare yourself to them.
By clicking/tapping the extract, you access the complete general rankings of your series. This time, all players of your series appear. You also have the possibility of knowing in which series your friends are by clicking/tapping the "My friends" filter.

- Tournament rankings:
At the end of a series tournament, you have access to the tournament rankings.
By default, the "All" filter is checked, which means that you appear among all players of this tournament, whether they have played the 4 deals or not. By unchecking this filter, you will only be ranked against players who have completed the tournament.
The "Friends" filter allows you to make your friends appear in the tournament rankings.
If a player has not finished playing the 4 deals of a tournament, these deals will be displayed in red in the "played deals" column of the tournament rankings.

Bonuses
A bonus is offered to most active players. We do not take your worst two tournaments out of 10 tournaments played into account to calculate your average.

Example: You play 22 tournaments. For 18 of these tournaments, you score 60%, whereas for the other 4 (the 2nd, the 6th, the 8th and the 21st e.g.), you score 30%. Without the bonus, your average would be [(60x18) + (30x4)]/22=54.54%. With the bonus, the 4 tournaments (2 every 10 played tournaments) at 30% are not taken into account and your average will then be: (60x18)/18=60%.

Forecast
Funbridge displays a forecast of your series for the next period if rankings did not change: are you going to be relegated, secure your place or access a higher series?
An upward arrow shows that you will go up to a higher series, a horizontal arrow shows that you will secure your place in your series and a downward arrow shows that you will go down to a lower series.
Please note that series rankings evolve until the end of the period. As a result, the forecast only gives indications at a given time.


Other information
Best result:
We save and display the best result of each player in series tournament in his profile (reminder: click on a player's screen name anywhere in Funbridge to display his profile).
The best result represents the best rank reached in the best series reached by the player.
Please note that the player must have secured his place or gone up to a higher series at least once to make this information available.

Uncompleted tournament:
If you do not complete a series tournament, it will not be taken into account to calculate your average at the end of the period. If you play only one tournament over the period without completing it, we will consider that you have not played.

Players' breakdown in series:
Players are broken down in series as follows:
- Elite: 0.40% of players
- Series 1: 0.60% of players
- Series 2: 0.90% of players
- Series 3: 1.30% of players
- Series 4: 2.00% of players
- Series 5: 3.00% of players
- Series 6: 4.40% of players
- Series 7: 6.60% of players
- Series 8: 10% of players
- Series 9: 14.90% of players
- Series 10: 22.40% of players
- Series 11: 33.60% of players
- New: groups new players together
